What options are available to small businesses? |
The Meriden Business & Learning Center not only delivers training to groups of employees from individual companies, but also runs classes open to all businesses that may only enroll one or two employees. I want to offer training but I don't think I can afford it. Can you help? |
As a not-for-profit entity, every effort is made to have affordable training programs at MBLC. We will also help you locate state and local funding sources that can help defray the cost of training.

I want to upgrade the skills of my workers but I don't know where to begin. Can MBLC help? |
The Meriden Business & Learning Center will conduct a needs assessment for your company and assist you in running a single course or implementing a long-range training plan. What the MBLC will not do is sell you a training program which is wrong for your company or your workers. For example, delivering advanced level training to a workforce that has not mastered basic level skills is a waste of your time and money.

I want to train my workers, but I don't want to lose significant production time. Can MBLC work with me on this? |
The Meriden Business & Learning Center was designed to deliver training efficiently with minimal disruption to your operation. For example, some manufacturers have scheduled training around shift changes, allowing a maximum number of workers to participate without significant loss of production time. The MBLC will work with employers to accommodate your needs in every way possible.

Who will deliver the training? |
Our partnership has been forged around the strength of experienced educational providers at both the local and state level, and draws upon many resources from the private sector. Most training can be quickly and easily organized through our partners; other programs may require the services of outside training specialists.
What types of training are available? |
Our primary goal is to deliver customized job training to area employers. We can deliver training at any level, from basic adult education to college level courses.
